Knight Engineering Services has proudly served the Houston area since 1983. Knight Engineering began as a forensic engineering investigation company, and soon after began operating a soils testing laboratory. This experience led to involvement in foundation related work in the mid 1980's, which included 1) determining what's wrong with the foundation, 2) determining the appropriate repair plan, and 3) inspecting the repair work. Multiple ideas and patents were developed in this field over the years and Knight Engineering gradually became more specialized in this work.

Our Services

Knight Engineering Services offers foundation evaluations, real-estate inspections and foundation repair work, as well as engineering letters for permitting and completion of repair work and tunnel backfilling. Certified Backfill (Tunnel) letters and other letters are provided within 24 hours upon request.

Our Foundation Evaluations

The engineers at Knight Engineering will create a differential evaluation survey of the foundation in question and combine a study of the survey patterns with a study of the observed distress and any suspected built-in irregularities to determine what's wrong with the foundation and what repair options are available. Our initial on-site inspection is for information gathering only. This information is then brought back to the office to be studied and to prepare a certified report and stamped drawing. An engineer will hand deliver the report to the owner with a full verbal explanation and a time of answering questions. The owner is placed in the driver's seat with enough information to make decisions that are most beneficial for his or her situation. The cost varies according to the size of the home and the level of service you require. The time needed to complete an evaluation is about one week

Knight Engineering provides a project manager to oversee the repair work and provides engineering involvement during critical phases of each job; this includes an engineer onsite during the levelling process. Knight Engineering is proud to offer a lifetime warranty that is transferable to future owners, provided that no major structural changes are made. If any area underpinned by Knight Engineering Services should settle, Knight Engineering Services will readjust these areas as needed at no additional cost to the owner
